February 12, 2001	Straub, Detmar. "E-Competitive Transformations," Presentation at the Information & Decision Support Center (Cabinet-level Agency) Conference. This conference was held February 12-15, 2001. It was attended by over 1500 Egyptian business and government professionals. March 12, 2001	Straub, Detmar. "Competing with e-Commerce (in Egypt)," Principal speaker in one-day seminar sponsored by Magdy Hamish and the Arab Academy of Science and Technology. There were approximately 150 business and government executives and managers in attendance, including the Chairman of the IDSC, the CEO of the Central Bank of Egypt, the CEO of the Arab Contractors, etc. Dr. Straub stressed circumstances in Egypt, particularly policy initiatives, that could impact the development of e-Commerce in Egypt. In this seminar, major changes in government IT policy (knowledge gathered as a result of the NSF grant) were discussed by Dr. Straub. Participants in the seminar, besides Dr. Straub, included: Dr. Ismail Hassan, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt; Dr. Ismail Osman, Chairman & CEO, Arab Contractors; Mr. Magdy Hashish, Senior Partner, Magdy Hashish & Partner; Eng.
